As you well be aware by now, I'm pretty into my footy YouTube clips. Any new adverts by the sportswear giants are instantly my new favourites of all time!
What I really love about this one in particular from Nike, is that it really sums up the feelings of everyone involved in football - from the players to the fans. This new advert "Write The Future" is basically saying that if you don't make the goal, then you're doomed to a life in tatters, e.g. Rooney ends up being a groundsman at his local footy ground!
Anyway, check this out for yourself and see what you think.
At Getthelabel.com we have a massive range of discount Nike clothing, including trainers and t-shirts, training tracksuits and football boots, starting from just £4.99.
For example, this Nike Essential Full Zip Hoody is just £24.99 - perfect those match days when the weather can't decide what to do!
And check out these Nike Capri Canvas Lace Up trainer for just £19.99, saving you £15.
Yes ladies, the word is out on the street and we're all geared up for it - the girls are back in town from tomorrow night!!! Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte hit our screens with the new Sex and the City film, and the word in the street is that the clothes are hotter than ever!!!! I'm so looking forward to meeting up with the girls, sharing a couple of cosmopolitans and catching up with what the gang has been up too over the last few months!! Me and my mates have had loads of fun doing the getthelabel.com quiz to see who we came out as -I was Carrie of course!! - so we're now planning on going to see the film dressed like our alter egos!!!! And of course we've been plundering the rails here at getthelabel.com.
Carrie is the fashion maverick - always ten steps in front of the trends, she’s the kind of girl who is already wearing the hot items for autumn/winter 2010 and even knows what we'll be buying for summer next year. She's a fashion chameleon too - bohemian one day, world traveller the next - always keeping us guessing. So, what have I chosen with Carrie in mind? Well of course it's all about the shoes - so I’ve gone with the very sexy Morgan Amelie platform - the strap detailing is bang on trend and the peep toe is perfect for showing off my new pedicure!! I think I might pair it with the Lipsy Jersey Atmosphere dress - but like Carrie the options in my wardrobe are endless, so I may end up throwing on some skinnies and a sequin top instead!!
Miranda is the tough cookie of the group - very black and white about her work life and home life, and a strict belief in what’s right and what’s wrong. The birth of her little boy made absolutely no difference to her wardrobe - no comfy sweats for this mummy - she likes to be sharp, tailored and colour co-ordinated at all times. The word on the street is that she has the best wardrobe in this new film!! We shall see!!! So, what do I think Miranda would pick if she had the run of the getthelabel.com stockroom? Definitely the Iska print dress - easy to wear and no need to think too hard about accessories as it comes with its own belt - and she can pair it with jeans and a cardi at weekends, when she's chilling in the burbs with her boys!
Samantha is of course the sex pot - if she's not thinking about it she's doing it!! Samantha is definitely the sex in Sex and the City! Her clothes are tight, short, leave little to the imagination and are definitely easy to remove!! She lapsed a little bit during her relationship with Smith, but she's definitely back on form now!! Our little hunk of burning love would definitely pick out something like the Gio Goi Era Jersey Dress in Pink - slinky enough to hug her gorgeous figure and in a "you can't miss me" pink - it has Samantha written all over it!!
Last, but not least the lovely Charlotte - the yummy mummy of the bunch. After kissing a fair few toads Charlotte finally found her Prince Charming and now they have a gorgeous family together, and she is determined to be the perfect wife. Charlotte is definitely all about femininity and prettiness - there's no spandex or lycra in this girls wardrobe!! Tailored separates and frothy dresses are definitely the order of the day. So of course it has to be the Clubl Rose Ruffle dress - a perfect combination of blush pink, ruffles and a bodice strewn with roses. What more could a girl ask for?
Well you can't really miss Sex and the City at the moment, it's everywhere! Carrie and co are back this Friday and I'm sure women all over the country have pre-booked their cinema tickets to see the next installment from the fab four.
As well as the great SATC-esque clothes we have at Get The Label, we've also got in on the action with our great Facebook app, which tells you which character you are. I'm a Carrie!
Give it a go and see how you do. Oh and enjoy the film!
Which Sex and the City Character are you?
Have you seen these new t-shirts from Jack n' Jones? We have had a big new delivery, and they’re such good value for money, as they start from £5.99!!!! But you'll have to be quick as they always fly out the Get the Label doors.
Throw them on with jeans, or shorts and you have a fresh new look to enjoy the May sun.
At prices like these you could treat yourself to one for everyday of the week.
High Grade T-shirt in blue has a vintage feel to it, and looks smart with stonewash denim, and is great value for money at £5.99!!!
Log T-shirt in blue looks great with stone coloured shorts.
Ball T-shirt in white. A clean, fresh white T-shirt looks great with anything.
Late Night T-shirt in green is a cool retro colour, you’ll have the neighbours green with envy and is only £5.99!!!!!
Well I don't know about you, but I love the Cannes Film Festival - not because I’m a film buff you understand, but because I love seeing what the stars wear on the red carpet!! So, this week I'm feeling the glamour, but I don't have the stars bank balance so of course I’ve been rifling through the rails here at getthelabel.com head office to find my own bit of red carpet style - and here are my picks:
Maxi Dresses are all over the place for summer - easy to wear during the day, and an easy glamour piece for the evening. The stars were all working this hot trend on the red carpet too. My current favorite is the ClubL Tribal Maxi Dress - three trends in one: animal print, bright colours and a maxi!! Wear with killer heels and pile on wooden and gold jeweler for a night out with the girls, or slip into jeweled flats and a cute shrug for dinner with your other half.
Some of the younger stars were working the playsuit, which made me feel brave enough to try it myself! I'm loving the Rare Sequin playsuit which is bang on trend but still flattering as the shorts aren't too tight. I'm planning on wearing it with black opaques, chunky black sandals and I’m going to pop a black lace body underneath it to make me feel even more of a style maven!! A different look would be to cinch in waist with a huge belt and pile on lots of black bracelets.
Another trend that the stars have bought into in Cannes is lace. Lace is always stylish and elegant, and nothing screams style star more than this gorgeous black lace dress by Iska. Keep your accessories simple, and let the lace do the talking - pair with sleek black shoes and a big black clutch. Or, go really fashion forward and add elbow length gloves and a brightly coloured pair of opaque tights.
One of the hottest trends for summer, which has translated well into evening wear and which the stars are loving, is the sportswear trend. The most glamorous way to wear this trend is the body-con dress, like this fab electric blue Gio Goi Era Jersey dress. Don't be too scared of the words body-con, slim-fitting dresses like this can be quite flattering as they suck everything in!! If all else fails you can stick of pair of magic knickers underneath!! Again, wear with killer heels and lots of costume jewelry at night, but you could also rock this dress during the day too with a cute cardi, navy tights and some pretty flats.
Continuing on from previous football-obsessed posts I've put up, I've got a great clip of Smithy (from Gavin & Stacey) giving the Man Utd football team an exercise class, all in aid of Sport Relief! Yes I know it's a couple of months old but it makes me laugh everytime and it's a perfect pick-me-up on a Thursday afternoon - the weekend is nearly here!
And if you are indeed a reds fan then check out Get The Label's range of Man Utd football kits. Saving up to 70% off RRP, tops such as this Manchester United Long Sleeve Training top are sure to be a winner!
Spring is definitely here - which means no one quite knows what the weather is going to do!! Some mornings you wake up and its bright sunshine, then an hour later it’s raining cats and dogs!! So how do you know what to wear? Do you wear short sleeves and risk freezing to death? Or wrap up warm and risk boiling alive? Well, the sensible person will layer, layer, layer - and the key to this is the lightweight knit. Easy to throw on if the weather cools, and not as bulky to carry if the sun shows its face!!
So, this week we've had a delivery of Siren Cardi's and I’m hard-pressed to pick my favorite - they are all co cute. I love the Cheryl Lux cardi in silver lurex , and the Boyfriend Peacock Knit with its gorgeous peacock print on the back - but if I must pick one favorite it has to be the Beatrix spot knit. From the front it looks like a cute sassy navy cardi with white polka dots - ahhh lovely. But turn round and on the back is a gorgeous tattoo style print with roses, hearts and crowns all scattered in sequins - serious bling! Will look great with jeans, linen trousers or over a cute dress.
Henley's also do a couple of cute cardis for spring. The Hanger cardi comes in both Blue and Grey and White and Grey - and picks up perfectly on the American sportswear trend which is so big this season. It also has a striking Lion and Shield design on one side, which makes it stand out even more from the kind of cardis your mum wears!!
Cardis are not just for girls though - there are some great men's knits for this in-between season too. My personal favorite is the Eto Jakarta Knit in Navy and Lime - Lime is such a great colour for summer. I love the stripe detail round the bottom and the lime cuffs are so stylish. Will look great over a shirt and jeans - or tap into the mod look and wear over a polo shirt and skinnies for a pint.
Now for those of you who are slaves to your sportswear, there is something for you too. Adidas, yes Adidas, have produced a cardi too - and I think it’s quite trendy! In suits-all black with the Adidas logo in Navy, it’s a real go-with-anything wardrobe staple. Interestingly, it’s got 5% cashmere in so it will be really cosy to wear - best keep your hands on it or the other half might nick it!!! I've ordered one for hubby but I ended up keeping it for myself cos it’s so lovely to wear!!!! And at £24.99 i might just stretch to buying him a replacement one too!!!
I don’t know about you, but when I reach May I start planning for the Summer. Looking forward to the holidays, festivals, picnics in the park, enjoying the Summer evenings with a BBQ and good friends, and seeing the sun (Hopefully).
And when I saw the Trespass 2 Man pop up tent on Getthelabel for only £29.99 it has given me loads of great ideas for the Summer. Not only is the tent coming to the festivals with me, but because it’s lightweight, compact and can be carried as a bag I’m going to take it on the train to North Wales for a weekend in Conwy with a friend, and set up camp. It’s an inexpensive way of having fun and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Can’t wait!!!!
You can't go anywhere at the moment without seeing someone sporting a pair of Voi jeans. And why is that? We think it's because Voi know exactly what you want and deliver it with the best materials and at a price that doesn't make you scream. Of course, when you buy Voi jeans with Get The Label, prices are even cheaper!
Established in 1988, Voi's aim was to make stylish jeans for the mid market fashion sector, experimenting with different techniques such as washing methods and embellishment.
The brand steadily grew and became a very well known label in the last couple of years, as jeans wearers all over the country began to realise the potential of the brand. Since this catapult into the hearts of the British consumers, Voi has branched out to offer a broad range of menswear, including hoodies, t-shirts, jackets, joggers, knitwear, shorts and accessories. It also now has a small selection of ladies t-shirts and hoodies.

Seven nations...seven beautiful women. Thats the tag line for the opening shots of the new 'Behind the scenes at Umbro World Champions Collection photoshoot'. It features seven WAGs of popular football players from the seven nations. For example, Abbey Clancy (Peter Crouch's fiance) is modelling the England shirt, Charlene Suric (Gael Clichy's wife) is modelling the French design and Luli Fernandez (girlfriend of Pablo Mouche) wears the Argentina kit. All the kit designs are really simplistic and look great - check them out for yourself!
