    Happy Halloween!

    by Louise Kilburn • October 29th 2010

The weekend is here and not just any weekend but Halloween! One of the few times where people over the age of 21 can dress up without looking weird. Hooray!

My tastes are quite simple when it comes to Halloween - bag of sweets for the trick-or-treaters and a couple of scary films for me - this year it's The Shining (a personal favourite) and Friday the 13th. I've never seen any of the Friday the 13th films but after having a go at our new Scary Movies Facebook App I decided to have a go!

If you have any other recommendations for a scary film please let me know on our Facebook wall!

    www.Facebook.com/GetTheLabel

Truthfully I haven't even given pumpkins a thought, although my friend has carved a brilliant one for his daughter, with Dora the Explorer's face on it! Definitely a special talent there!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    Glam Goth

    by Louise Kilburn • October 28th 2010

It's that spooky time of year again - Halloween is just around the corner, and the kids have already started doing "trick or treat"!! But you don't have to scare anyone with your fashion choices - glamorous gothic was a huge trend on the catwalk for Autumn/Winter 2010 and it's perfect for any Halloween party! Think black, black and more black but add interest with luxurious fabrics and cool detailing. Of course here at www.getthelabel.com we've got just what you need to look fiendishly fashionable:

The goth's main wardrobe staple is black lace - total opposite of white lace in every way. Black lace is definately an after dark fabric, which really comes to life when the lights go down! This ClubL lace dress is perfect for partywear this season - and it's t-shirt style shape means its so easy to wear! Pair it with opaques and killer heels for partying with the girls - or if you want to change it up a bit slip on a pair of leggings or skinny jeans.

Skeletons are pretty much always associated with Halloween, but you don't have to dress as one to get in the spirit of things! Slip on this cool Skull Lace Vest by Heaven Sent, and you'll be bang on trend and seasonal too! So cute with the pink detailing, it will look great with leggings or jeans - or dress it up with a pair of peg leg trousers and tough shoe boots!

If you fancy being more glamourous than goth then how about this One-Shouldered Sequin Dress by Ribbon? It is of course in the Goth's favourite colour - black - but the all over sequins add a more feminine edge. Again will shine at any party, or you could stand out from the crowd by pairing with leggings and knee-high boots.

If dresses aren't your thing then don't worry there are plenty of ways you can join the glam goth brigade. Think slashes and rips in your jeans - very Halloween! These Heaven Sent Slash jeans are perfect - slim fitting, black and with fab slashes down the front. Very chic. Pair with a skeleton vest or lace blouse, and you'll be a real head turner!

Glam Goth isn't just an after-dark look though, you can bring it into your daytime wardrobe quite easily. For example, this ClubL Skull Knit sweater has a great beaded skull on the front, but being black on black means its not totally in your face. The rip design on the sleeves and front is really glam too. Again, will look fab with leggings and knee high boots, or with your jeans for a more casual look.

    Top Five - Jack Jones

    by Louise Kilburn • October 21st 2010

We here at getthelabel.com love Jack Jones! Its a brand which is really fashion concious, but makes it easy for men to create their own personal style. I especially like the fact that the designs are relaxed and cool but jave a super fit. With so many fantastic Jack Jones pieces to choose from, I found it really difficult to pick my top five. But for you I struggled on and managed it, and so here are my results!

This Spray T-shirt is a real wardrobe staple with a bold, designer grafiti spray style design on the front! And at the bargain price of £7.99 you could buy it in all four colours (Blue, Purple, Grey and White) and still have enough change for a paper!!

Keep it cool in a dark pair of blue jeans. These Jack Jones Stream jeans have a great low pocket detail on the front, and the logo on the side, back and front!! The best thing about these jeans though is that they are only £29.99 - so they won't break the bank!

What to wear with your dark denim jeans? Why, this perfect Lula Hooded Long Sleeve Shirt of course! I love the bold check design which is currently a hot trend, and the lined hood with adjustable ties is a great design feature. This shirt is definately one which will make you stand out from the crowd - and you can't grumble at that for just £24.99 can you?!

Now the nights are drawing in its time to start wearing coats again guys!! This cute Master Jacket is an arresting update on the classic bomber, and its 100% nylon so it should keep you drier if you get caught in any autumnal shower!! The thing I love most about this coat (apart from the fact its only £29.99), is the amount of pockets it's got - loads of places to keep you change, phone, keys etc. A real wardrobe staple.

Last but not least, the ever popular hoody!! Where would we be without them? Keep you warm and snuggly when you're chilling on the sofa with the missus, and look cool when you're down the pub with the boys! This Jack Jones Vide Hoody has a great retro inspired logo, and the fabric is so soft. Its a fashionable yet relaxed design in a toned down colour - and all for just £14.99. If the blue is a little loud for you, don't panic, it also comes in Navy, White or Grey! Perfect!

    Tough Love

    by Louise Kilburn • October 14th 2010

I love fashion - in case you hadn't noticed!!! One of the things I love the most about it, is it allows you to dress up and be someone else everyday! This Autumn there are many characters you could play: the 1950s starlet, the farmers wife, the soldier.....but my eternal favourite is the rock chick!! Always a winning look on a night out, it allows me to be a little bit experimental and a little bit edgier than I would normally be, but of course I still like to look chic and stylish - so this is my guide to how to do rock chick the getthelabel.com way!

So, the basis for any successful rock chick outfit is the top - get this right and the rest will follow! Vest tops are always good because they can be layered over other things, or work on their own if you're planning on dancing the night away! My current favourite is this Heaven Sent black chiffon vest with gold stud detailing - love it! Studs are a key detail of the rock chick look, but the lightweight material and keyhole back detail keep this top looking faminine and sexy rather than grungy!

Heaven Sent Stud Vest Heaven Sent Stud Vest

To add a bit of extra sparkle to this look, why not pick out the gold detailing of the studs with a sequin shrug - like this one from Iska? It will soften up the look a little, so it may not be to everyones taste - but I think it will make you stand out from the crowd!

Iska Sequin Shrug Iska Sequin Shrug

Now we've got the top half sorted, lets move onto the bottom! The classic rock chick look would usually involve skintight black denim jeans or leather trousers. Why not mix it up a bit with these cool wet look patch leggings from ClubL? Much easier to wear than leather, and a fraction of the cost too!! You can also wear them during the day with a tunic and lace up boots and work the Military look!

ClubL PU Legging ClubL PU Legging

Now for the footwear - the more buckles, straps and studs the better!! These Cuba boots are perfect - with their straps and buckles they are classic rock chick, and the stud detailing is a great added bonus! Again, these will look great dressed down at the weekend with your skinny jeans and tunic knits.

Cuba Boot Cuba Boot Cuba Boot

Now, last but not least, you're going to need something to keep you warm whilst you make your way too and from the club!! The Rock Chick's cover-up of choice has to be the Biker Jacket (preferably accessorised with a hot bloke on a Harley!!). Now of course, we here at getthelabel.com aim to please so we have sourced these fab ClubL Biker Jackets with the coolest stud detailing to the collar. The tailored shape is so flattering, and the asymmetric zip is a real stand-out detail. So now you're good to go - hit the town and have a great time confident in the knowledge that you've got the Rock Chick look nailed!

    Focus on: Fred Perry

    by Liz McNamara • October 13th 2010

The tennis season may be over for most of us this year but at Get The Label the smart tennis style is always popular. The fantastic Fred Perry range is at the heart of this trend and Get The Label is eager to share it with our customers.

Fred Perry was created in the late 40s by, you guessed it, tennis player Fred Perry. He was approached by an Austrian football player Tibby Wegner who wanted to produce a sweatband with Perry's name on. A few design tweaks later and he and Perry had created the sweatband.

Soon enough he had caught the design bug and the polo shirt was born. The laurel wreath logo used on Perry's designs became synonymous with Wimbledon and great tennis players and Perry's tactic of giving his clothes to popular tennis players to wear soon paid off. Originally made for the new generation of tennis players, the polo shirt soon became the shirt of choice for the mod generation.

It was this fashion movement that helped to launch Fred Perry's clothing brand onto the high street and into people's wardrobes.

Get The Label have sourced out the best in Fred Perry so that you too can rock the champion style.

For the men out there try this Fred Perry Pop Stripe Polo Shirt, at just £29.99 reduced from £54.99

With the colder months approaching, take a look at this Fred Perry Windbreaker Hooded Jacket - reduced from £99.99 to £49.99 - a great saving.

Fashion conscious kids don't need to look much further than these great Fred Perry Juniour Boys Tennis Trainers. This classic style is only £14.99, a saving of £25!

For work, keep the rest of your outfit sleek and simple. Knitwear is always key in the cold season, so why not mix it up with a cute knit tunic like the bow detail knit from ClubL - cute and cosy and will look great at the weekend with your skinnies. Team with some black leggings (like the Only Live Love Legging) and some cute Playboy flat shoes for a sophisticated simple outfit which will keep you looking professional but on trend all day long!

At the weekend its time to pull on your favourite pair of skinny jeans. Our current favourite pair are the Gio Goi Skinny Rinse Jeans, which have a cute buckle fastening on the back. Team these with some great black Cuba knee-high boots and add a pop of colour with a coral Apple Bottoms t-shirt - and you'll look casually cool whatever you do.

Finally, its time to take your Miliary coat out! Team it with a hot dress, like this gorgeous one-shouldered sequin dress from Ribbon. Pair it with some Piecesgreen tights and a pair of Morgan shoe boots to show how fashion forward you are - your friends will think you've stepped straight off the catwalk!!

    We love Lipsy

    by Liz McNamara • October 1st 2010

Like most girls I love Lipsy. The dresses are a staple for my party wardrobe and I'm sure tons of celebs can agree with me. Worn by the likes of the Sugababes and the entire female cast of Hollyoaks, Lipsy has become the 'it' brand for nights out and looking glam.

Until 2008 it seemed like Lipsy was hiding in the background, yet all of a sudden everyone knows about it and everyone wants it.

Here at Get The Label we are no exception. We are the place to go if you want a dress from Lipsy, without burning a hole in your pocket.
